My experience in Tolú

About me
My name is David Rodríguez Sánchez. I was born in Pereira, in the department of Risaralda which is part of Coffee Zone in Colombia, on August 14, 1994. I am a student of Icesi University in Cali. I'm studying Economics and International Business. My future project is to be an important businessman who creates jobs and a positive impact on society.
I like to play chess, to travel to different places, meet new people, dance and listen to music. Regarding food, I like to eat roast, spaghetti, and a popular soup in Colombia called “Ajiaco". I love empanadas, “papa rellena”, which is a stuffed potato, and arepa con queso, but not every day because ¡It can be harmful to health!
I traveled around Colombia, visiting beautiful places, but the one I like (besides Cartagena and San Andres, which everyone knows) was Tolú.
Why am I writing this blog?
My country is a place of wondrous variety. It has many climates, and to each of them there are places that you wouldn’t dream existed. Everyone who knows just a little about Colombia thinks that all there is Cartagena and other well known cities. Well, those are not the only places here. There is a wonderful place, in the department of Sucre called Tolú. In this place you can go to beautiful beaches, with people who will attend you kindly and with a heavenly landscape.
My experience in Tolú
My experience in Tolú was very exciting. I was in this place during five days and it was amazing. I met friendly people who live in this place; generally they are Afro-Americans and live from fishing and tourism.
A few minutes from the town, you can visit wonderful beaches as La Playa del Frances or beautiful islands as El Archipiélago de San Bernardo, where you can practice diving and sport fishing.
The cuisine is very delicious. You can find all kinds of dishes made with seafood and fish. The most popular dishes in the region are grilled snapper, shrimp cocktail and “arepa de huevo”, which is an arepa stuffed with fried egg. However, you also can find dishes influenced by the antioqueña culture, for example, "frijoles antioqueños", white rice and pork.
Around the beach, you can buy different handicrafts as “sombrero vueltiao” or collars made with seashells made by the people of the region. Other tourist attraction of Tolú are the “bicitaxis”. These are big bicycles with seats in the back, where you can ride around the town at very low price. It's a very entertaining and economical experience, but you should not forget helping the driver to pedal because ¡It is a difficult task for one person!
One day, when my father and I were walking around the beach, we found a beautiful place. It was a great cottage with comfortable hammocks. This place is called “Maley” that means “mar” (sea) and “ley de Dios” (law of God) and not many people know it. In this place you can stay as if you were in a five-star hotel, overlooking the sea and at a cheap price. You can visit the homepage: www.maleycolombia.es.tl

Finally, I can say that everybody should have this experience because it's very cheap; the landscape is beautiful; the natives and people from the region are very friendly and the cuisine is delicious.
